U.S Pre-High School Camp

Start High School with an academic advantage!

In preparation for High School, students acquire the English skills for academic success, develop social skills to adjust and adapt to a new culture, and receive the tools necessary for dealing with the emotional stress of living in a new environment.

American Baseball Camp

Taught by some of the best athletes and coaches in baseball, students play alongside the San Diego Force Baseball Team — one of the best minor league baseball teams in the United States — while developing English language skills for collegiate athletics. With 7 Division Championships, 9 World Series appearances and coming in 3rd place at the 2016 NBC World Series, the San Diego Force Baseball team invites players to experience America’s favorite pastime.

American Surfing Camp

Experience the thrill of surfing! Students improve English while learning to surf from experienced instructors in the region’s best and safest surf spots. No prior experience required but must be a strong swimmer.

FUNDAMENTAL & ACADEMIC ENGLISH

  1. What is the average class size for the Fundamental and Academic English programs?

    The average class size is 5-12 students.

  2. How many hours per week is the Fundamental English program?

    The Fundamental English program is 18 hours per week.

  3. What does my day look like with the Fundamental English program?

    You will have classes in the morning until lunchtime, Monday through Thursday. Then, you will have your Q Online Workshop class after lunch for two days out of the four days that you attend classes. We do not have class on Fridays.

  4. How many hours per week is the Academic English program?

    The Academic English program is 24 hours per week.

  5. What does my day look like with the Academic English program?

    You will have classes in the morning until lunchtime, and then you will have your Q Online Workshop class after lunch for two days out of the four days that you attend classes. You will also have your grammar class after lunch on the other two out of the four days that you attend classes. For example; you will have your morning classes every morning (Monday through Thursday) except for Friday, and then you will have your Q Online Workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays after lunch. Your grammar class will then be on Mondays and Wednesdays after lunch. We do not have class on Fridays.

  6. What is the difference between Fundamental English and Academic English?

    Fundamental English consists of 18 lesson hours and Academic English consists of 24 lesson hours. Both programs focus on integrated learning of the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). Academic English, however, includes two additional classes: a class focused specifically on grammar, and an elective class.

  7. Why is Q Online Workshop part of the program?

    Q Online Workshop is an interactive component of both the Fundamental and Academic English programs. It helps you learn integrated English skills through the use of a computer in our lab. Q Online Workshop offers lots of interactive computer-based activities based on the four skills—reading, writing, listening and speaking; which are essential to learning English. Some of the activities include pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary matching, watching videos and answering questions, and much more.

  8. Do the Fundamental and Academic English programs offer breaks in between classes?

    Yes, you get a 10-minute break in between each class.

  9. How long are the classes in the Fundamental and Academic English programs?

    Each class is 50 minutes long.

TEST PREP: IELTS/TOEFL

BUSINESS ENGLISH

  3. What does the Business English program cover?

    The Business English program is a comprehensive introduction to business vocabulary, case studies, resume building, interview techniques, effective communication, and overall concepts and practices in the English-speaking business environment. A Business Certificate will be awarded upon completion.

PRIVATE LESSONS

  1. Why should I take private lessons?

    It is a good idea to take private lessons if you feel like you need more help with your English learning outside of the classroom. Private lessons are given by our highly-qualified teachers, who can help you achieve your English language goals while motivating you along the way!

  2. What components in English learning are covered by private lessons?

    English learning components that are covered during the lesson are completely up to you and are what you feel like you need the most help with. For example, you can get help working on your pronunciation, grammar, test taking, and more!

  3. When can I take private lessons?

    You can plan to meet with an instructor during your school week at times that work best for you!

  4. How long are the private lessons?

    Private lessons are one hour each.
