Hi, My name is Douglas da Matta and I’m from Brazil. I have been living in San Diego for around 17 months. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology and Gastronomy. While I was living in Brazil, I worked as a Biologist in a fish research group and in an environmental consulting company. My job was to travel to several cities in Brazil and verify that large companies were respecting environmental laws.
My best experience was when I traveled to South Africa to learn more about their culture and animal life in Cape Town. At that time, I made many great friends from different countries and started to speak better English. After that, I decided to come to San Diego to improve my English and also to learn about American culture.
My passion nowadays is to cook and meet new people. Although I study hard most of the time, I also love spending time with my friends and I’m always planning for my next trip!
